Hydroelectric: DIY

Hydroelectric power is perhaps the most site specific renewable power technology in that a constant source of flowing water must be present at the site. Rivers and streams are best suited, with a minimum depth of three to six feet and ideally sloping downhill. Without such a source generating hydroelectric power is not possible. If available, a diversion system and wheel system could be developed.

To help determine hydropower potential see this publication by the University of West Virginia.
